AI Plant Doctor ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our mobile applications and this website (collectively, the "Service").

Information We Collect

• Account Information: email address and authentication identifiers when you create an account or sign in (including social sign-in).
• Plant & Diagnosis Data: plant profiles you add, photos you upload or capture, AI-generated diagnoses, treatment plans, and related metadata (timestamps, device type).
• Reminders & Preferences: local notification preferences (enablement, time windows) and in-app settings.
• Usage Data & Analytics: app interactions, feature usage, and technical events to improve reliability and experience (aggregated where possible).
• Crash & Performance Data: crash reports and device diagnostics when the app encounters errors.
• Device Permissions: camera, photo library, and notifications, only when you choose to enable them for app functionality.

How We Use Information

• Provide and improve core features (diagnosis, treatment plans, reminders, plant management).
• Operate our backend services, including image processing, AI analysis, syncing, and offline support.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues (e.g., crash analysis).
• Understand feature usage to make the product better (analytics in aggregate).
• Communicate important updates, account notices, and service changes.

Data Processing and Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted processors to operate the Service:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore (database), Storage (images), Analytics, and Crashlytics.
• Cloud Functions / AI Providers: Images and related inputs may be processed to produce diagnoses. Where feasible, we minimize metadata and strip EXIF from images before processing.

These providers act on our behalf and are bound by data processing terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our users and the Service.

Data Retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account in-app to remove your data.
• Plant photos and diagnoses persist as part of your plant history until you delete them.
• Analytics and crash data are retained for a time necessary to improve reliability and may be stored in aggregate form.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure.

Your Choices and Rights

• Access, update, or delete your data from within the app (e.g., plant entries, photos, account deletion).
• Control permissions at any time via your device settings (camera, photos, notifications).
• Opt out of certain analytics by adjusting system or app settings where supported.
• Request additional information or data export by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe we have collected personal data from a child under 13, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

International Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than where you reside. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here and, where appropriate, communicated in-app. Your continued use of the Service after changes indicates acceptance.
